The Ruger AR-556 M-LOK rifle is a box magazine fed, autoloading, ar style rifle perfect for new and experienced shooters alike. The AR-556 rifle can be field stripped without the use of tools and breaks down into basic subassemblies. The safety, located above the trigger on the left side of the lower receiver, blocks the trigger and permits the bolt carrier to be cycled with the safety in the on or “SAFE” position. A bolt catch mechanism is provided for convenience in holding the bolt open for loading and inspection. The firing pin is retracted mechanically as the bolt starts to unlock and the rifle will fire only when the bolt is locked.
The Ruger AR556 MPR features a handguard that is free-floated for accuracy and the slim, 15″ length provides enhanced ergonomics. Magpul M-LOK accessory attachment slots along the 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 positions of the handguard, along with additional slots on the angled faces near the muzzle allow any combination of accessories to be attached to the rifle.The Ruger muzzle brake is a radial port design that significantly reduces felt recoil and muzzle movement. The threaded barrel allows for standard muzzle accessories to be installed.

I’m normally drawn to lever guns, revolvers etc. but have always loved my 10-22s and used to have an old Ruger .44mag carbine. I was looking for something similar to my 10-22 but with a tad more power. I really like the Mini 14 but they are quite pricey now. This little 9mm PC carbine is a BLAST to shoot. The iron sights are good and I added a Sig red dot on a riser. Best of both worlds! I can’t believe how accurate it is even over 50 yds using bulk FMJ ammo. At 25 yards it just makes one big hole when dumping the mags. This is a super-fun gun and easy to maintain especially being take-down. I added a flashlight as well and using good hollow points it would be a great home defense weapon. Get one, shoot it and you’ll love it.
