Kinetic Development Group MREX Mk II Handguard FN SCAR M-LOK Aluminum Information
The Kinetic Development Group MREX Mk II Handguard for the FN SCAR rifle Platforms offers a few obvious differences from the original 1st Gen MREX. M-Lok slots are available in more locations than the previous model, spanning the entire length of the MkII. M-Lok has been added to the 2 and 10 o’clock position in new mounting locations that acts as a shield from the gas block. The MKII has the desired step down just forward of the front sight. The traditional picatinny rail at the 12 o’clock position has been replaced with M-Lok slots allowing for more mounting options and a smoother, more ergonomic grip. The MkII will be offered in three different lengths: 6.5, 4.25, and 2.2 inches. These designations signify the length the MREX MkII extends beyond the SCAR receiver. KDG updated the MREX (Mid-length) to an overall length of 4.25” to accommodate the needs of issued rifle users and some shorter barrel lengths. This length is ideal for use on a SCAR with a 13” barrel and issued FN suppressor. Finally, the MkII 2.2 is ideal for use with a 10” SBR or any user looking to add M-Lok to their rifle without having a rail that extends beyond the gas block. The MkII rails are easier to install with less hardware in unnecessary locations. Like the original MREX, the MREX MkII can stay attached to the barrel, allowing easier change of configuration.
