Spyderco Zoomer Fixed Blade Knife 5.2″ Drop Point CPM-20CV Stainless Steel Blade G-10 Handle Black Information
Designed by Dutch survival enthusiast Tom Zoomer, the Spyderco/ Zoomer fixed blade is a highly evolved outdoor tool that takes the functionality of traditional Bushcraft knives to a new level. Its blade is crafted from CPM 20CV and features a zero-ground Hamaguri (convex) edge. A Hamaguri or Hamaguriba is a “clam-shaped” edge grind. Rather than tapering with straight lines to the edge, it possesses a curved taper in an opposite manner to a hollow-grind, resulting in a stronger edge while still allowing a good degree of sharpness. CPM 20CV is a powerful wear-resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel. The steel combines a high volume of hard vanadium carbides, for exceptional wear resistance, with an elevated supply of chromium, for superior corrosion resistance. It becomes a foolproof steel choice for a hard-use outdoor knife. These unique blade features are added to a handle design that has two meticulously machined solid G-10 scales which envelope the blade’s through tang, yet allow the butt of the tang to protrude for use as a hammer surface and lanyard attachment point. Its seamlessly contoured shape is devoid of hot spots and includes an extended thumb shelf for additional leverage. The Zoomer comes paired with a high quality leather sheath that includes a ceramic sharpening rod and an on-board accessory pouch.
